Here is the rundown of ITV in Spring 2025.
Drama
Code Of Silence (ITV1)
‘Code of Silence‘ is a gripping crime drama created by Catherine Moulton (Baptiste, Then You Run, Hijack), who drew on her own experiences with lip-reading and hearing loss to craft this unique and compelling series that is brought to life by lead director Diarmuid Goggins (Kin, Black Cab, Witness No. 3).
Bringing a fresh and distinctive perspective on crime and communication, ‘Code of Silence’ weaves a powerful and emotional narrative and highlights crucial representation for the Deaf community – the series is further enriched by the contributions of a diverse cast and crew from the Deaf, disabled, and neurodiverse communities.
At the heart of the series is Alison Brooks (Rose Ayling-Ellis), a smart and determined Deaf woman – having spent years working in a police canteen and secretly observing conversations, her life takes an unexpected turn when her exceptional lip-reading skills catch the attention of DS Ashleigh Francis (Charlotte Ritchie) and DI James Marsh (Andrew Buchan). Recruited for a covert operation, Alison is tasked with surveilling a dangerous gang as they plot a high-stakes heist, thrusting her into a world of crime, deception, and risk like never before.
As her interpretations of their covert conversations become central to the investigation, Alison is thrust into an exhilarating and perilous new world. Her role quickly becomes crucial to solving the case, but everything grows more complicated when she finds herself drawn to suspect Liam Bayne (Kieron Moore). Despite the escalating risks and threats to her personal life, Alison refuses to walk away…
Produced by Joe Shrubb (Endeavour, McDonald & Dodds), the cast also includes Nathan Armarkwei Laryea (The Witcher), Joe Absolom (Doc Martin, A Confession), Beth Goddard (The Serpent Queen, Manhunt), Andrew Scarborough (Emmerdale, Wolfblood), presenter Rolf Choutan, who is making his acting debut, and Fifi Garfield (Coffee Morning Club, Deaf Funny).
Malpractice, Season 2
When on-call psych consultant Dr James Ford (Tom Hughes) finds himself caught between an anxious new mother’s postnatal check-up and the sectioning of a psychotic patient, no one can predict the tragic outcome. Dr Norma Callahan (Helen Behan) and Dr George Adjei (Jordan Kouamé) of the Medical Investigation Unit are called in to investigate Dr Ford’s actions – his personal life is messy and his colleagues may find him arrogant, but Dr Ford appears committed to his vulnerable patients.
However, what appears to be a series of bad choices by one doctor spreads beyond the psychiatric unit to a hospital seemingly at war with itself – is Dr Ford a doctor with a God complex, or a victim himself?
Grace, Season 5
The upcoming 5th Season sees John Simm reprise his role as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace for four standalone films set in the familiar surroundings of Brighton, alongside Richie Campbell (Top Boy, Stephen). This season features another four feature-length films based on the novels Dead If You Don’t, Dead At First Sight, Need You Dead and Find Them Dead.
It’s over two months since the suicide of Grace’s ex-wife Sandy, and Grace’s son Bruno (Finn Guegan) has come to the UK to live with his grandparents while Grace and Cleo (Zoë Tapper) confront the aftermath of a profound personal loss.
As Roy navigates moving forward, he faces stakes higher than ever as his team tackles a terrifying incident at a football stadium, a crime of passion which isn’t what it seems, a murder with an unsettling secret at its heart and a trial linked to a ruthless drugs empire.
Ridley
In season two of ITV’s detective drama, Adrian Dunbar returns to the title role to solve more crimes. The retired detective turned police consultant resumes his partnership with former protégée DI Carol Farman, played by Bronagh Waugh (The Suspect, Unforgotten, The Fall), who is now in charge of investigations.
Ridley is written and created by award-winning writer Paul Matthew Thompson, one of the lead writers of ITV’s iconic detective drama Vera, and co-created by Jonathan Fisher (Blood, Hollington Drive, Penance), the Managing Director of West Road Pictures. Also this series, Julia Gilbert (Midsomer Murders) and Michael Bhim (Vera) have each written an episode.
