‘Hacks’ Season 4 Gets A Trailer, Premiering April On Sky In The UK & MAX In The USA

by Dave Elliott

The utterly brilliant comedy series Hacks has landed a trailer for Season 4, which is set to premiere on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK and on MAX in the USA in April.

The critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning comedy follows Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance, played by Jean Smart, who is forced to team up with Ava (Hannah Einbinder), an entitled, outcast television writer to help salvage her waning career.

When we’re introduced to the characters in season one, Vance is losing her relevance, and the head of the casino wants to reduce the number of her performances. Ava had been ostracised for an “insensitive tweet” and is struggling to find work. The duo realised they could help each other… Albeit reluctantly…

As we head into season four, (SPOILERS for seasons 1-3) tensions rise as Deborah and Ava endeavour to get their late-night show off the ground and make history doing it. Tensions that are not helped by the fact that Ava had to blackmail Deborah into getting the gig in the first place…

Sky picked up seasons one to three in January, which are all available on demand via Sky and streaming service NOW, and are being broadcast on Sky Max. They also acquired the 4th season at the same time, but that had not yet been broadcast in the USA.

Season 4 sees the return of xix-time Emmy winner and Tony Award nominee Jean Smart, three-time Emmy nominee and Critics Choice Award winner Hannah Einbinder, three-time Emmy winner Paul W. Downs, SAG Award nominee Megan Stalter, Emmy nominee Carl Clemons-Hopkins, SAG Award nominee Mark Indelicato, and SAG Award nominee Rose Abdoo. They are joined by Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari.

Previously announced new cast members include Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore, III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, and Sandy Honig.

‘Hacks’ is created and showrun by Emmy winners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky. The series is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, and Morgan Sackett. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handles international sales of the series.

Hacks‘ Season 4 premieres Friday, 11th April 2025 exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK. The comedy premieres Thursday, April 10th 2025 on streaming service Max in the USA.
