BBC Sets June UK Premiere Date For US Comedy ‘St. Denis Medical’

The BBC has finally set a UK premiere date for Season 1 of the US comedy St. Denis Medical‘, from the creators of ‘Superstore’.

‘St. Denis Medical’ is a workplace comedy set in an underfunded and understaffed Oregon hospital. At St. Denis Medical Centre, the dedicated doctors and nurses are trying their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.

The series stars Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs)Allison Tolman (Fargo)Josh Lawson (Superstore)Mekki Leeper (The Sex Lives of College Girls)Kaliko Kauahi (Superstore), Kahyun Kim (9-1-1), and David Alan Grier (The Color Purple).

In the opening episode, Alex needs to get home on time to see her daughter in the school play, but has a demanding new role as supervising nurse. Matt gets off to a flier on his first day by injecting himself with an EpiPen. Joyce has ordered an expensive mammogram machine. Ron has ordered milkshakes.

The comedy is written and executive produced by ‘Superstore’ creator Justin Spitzer, along with Eric Ledgin (Superstore, American Auto). Simon Heuer (American Auto) is also executive producing. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Superstore) serves as director and executive producer on the pilot. The series was renewed back in January by NBC for a 2nd Season.

St. Denis Medical‘ Season 1 will premiere Friday, 6th June 2025 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

they’re got it scheduled at 22:40, seems like a waste to acquire it only to air at that time

Yeah, but they mainly brought it for iPlayer, not broadcast. This happens with their acquisitions. The whole thing goes on to iPlayer, and then they use it to fill gaps in the schedule.
