Wubba Lubba Dub Dub! ‘Rick and Morty‘ are blasting back onto UK screens this June, as E4 confirms the arrival of the eighth season of the wildly popular animated sci-fi comedy.
The Emmy Award-winning series follows the unhinged, alcoholic super-genius Rick Sanchez and his nervous, well-meaning grandson Morty Smith as they barrel through space, dimensions, and timelines on chaotic, often morally questionable adventures. Now entering its eighth season, the show remains a cornerstone of adult animation, praised for its sharp wit, complex sci-fi storytelling, and unrelenting absurdity.
Set in a multiverse where literally anything can happen (and frequently does), Rick and Morty also ropes in other members of the Smith family – daughter Beth, her dopey husband Jerry, and rebellious granddaughter Summer – into their madcap escapades. As always, no universe is too strange, no creature too grotesque, and no ethical boundary too firm for Rick to cross.
According to the official synopsis for Season 8:
“Rick and Morty is back for season eight! Life has meaning again! Look out for adventures with Summer, Jerry, Beth… and the other Beth. Maybe Butter Bot will get a new task? Whatever happens, you can’t keep Rick and Morty down for long. In the opening episode, Rick tries disciplining the kids.”
This season continues the fresh era for the series with Ian Cardoni voicing Rick and Harry Belden voicing Morty. The rest of the central cast includes Chris Parnell as the perpetually clueless Jerry, Spencer Grammer as Summer, and Sarah Chalke voicing both versions of Beth.
Season 8 is expected to continue building on the show’s evolving mythology while delivering the signature mix of pop culture riffs, existential dread, and interdimensional insanity that fans have come to expect. With the show already renewed through Season 12 as part of Adult Swim’s long-term commitment, the adventures of the multiverse’s most dysfunctional family are far from over.
‘Rick and Morty’ was created by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland, with Scott Marder as showrunner. The series is executive produced by Harmon, Marder, Steve Levy, and James A. Fino. It is produced by Harmonious Claptrap, Starburns Industries, and Green Portal Productions, in association with Adult Swim. Animation production is handled by Bardel Entertainment. The series is distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution.
‘Rick and Morty‘ Season 8 premieres Sunday, 1st June 2025 at 9pm on E4 in the UK.
