Sky Sets August UK Premiere Date For ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2

by Dave Elliott

Sky has set a UK premiere date for DC Studios’ Peacemaker Season 2, which is set to land this August on the UK broadcaster.

The new season follows Christopher “Chris” Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.

Returning for season two are John Cena (Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad), Danielle Brooks (Orange Is the New Black, The Color Purple), Jennifer Holland (Brightburn, Sun Records), Freddie Stroma (Bridgerton, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), Steve Agee (The Suicide Squad, Superstore), and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Perry Mason).

They are joined by new cast members, Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Kingdom) as Rick Flag Sr., seeking retribution for his son’s death. Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) as Langston Fleury, an A.R.G.U.S. agent bringing a new dynamic to the team. Also introduced are Sol Rodriguez (Grachi, Star Trek: Picard) as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) as new ARGUS agent Langston Fleury, and David Denman (The Office, Mare of Easttown) playing an undisclosed role.

Whilst Season 1 was set in the old DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Season 2 is something of a “soft reboot”, and will be set in the new DC Universe (DCU), taking place after the events of the upcoming ‘Superman’ movie.

James Gunn has written all eight episodes of season two, serves as showrunner, and will direct three episodes. Other directors include Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland), Peter Sollett (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Raising Victor Vargas), and Alethea Jones (Evil, Made for Love). The series is exec produced by Gunn alongside DC Studios co-head, Peter Safran, with Cena as co-EP.

Peacemaker‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 22nd August 2025 on Sky Max in the UK. It airs Thursday, August 21st, on MAX …or HBO Max… or whatever they’re calling it that week… in the USA.
