UKTV Renews ‘The Marlow Murder Club’ For Season 3

by Dave Elliott

The amateur sleuths of Marlow are back on the case, as UKTV confirms that The Marlow Murder Club will return for a third season on U and U&DRAMA in 2026.

Following the success of the first two series, including a second season launch that pulled in over 2 million viewers, the new six-part run promises more of the mystery, wit, and charm that has made the show a firm fan favourite. The returning series will once again star Samantha Bond (Downton Abbey) as retired archaeologist Judith Potts, Jo Martin (Doctor Who) as dog-walker Suzie Harris, Cara Horgan (Traitors) as vicar’s wife Becks Starling, and Natalie Dew (Sandylands) as DI Tanika Malik, now a key figure in the sleuthing team’s unconventional crime-solving adventures.

Also returning are Holli Dempsey (Call the Midwife), Phill Langhorne (Casualty), and Tijan Sarr (Ted Lasso), rounding out the familiar faces of the close-knit Marlow community.

Filming is currently underway, and this time the series will feature three new murder mysteries, each unfolding over two episodes. Kicking things off are episodes co-written by Daniel Rusteau and Robert Thorogood, creator of the original books and two-time Sunday Times bestseller, adapting the third novel in the series, Queen of Poisons. Episodes three and four will be penned by Amy Reith, with episodes five and six written by Julia Gilbert.

From the suspicious death of Marlow’s beloved mayor to a celebrity chef who collapses at his own cookbook launch (with half the town watching), this series promises high-profile cases and even higher stakes. One case takes the team to an eerie university reunion in a remote manor house, where, in a twist, Becks finds herself amongst the suspects. Could their advisory roles be at risk?

The show continues to be produced by Monumental Television in association with ITV Studios, and co-commissioned by UKTV and US broadcaster MASTERPIECE. Executive producers include Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, Alison Carpenter, Sophie Clarke-Jervoise, Jill Forbes, and Susanne Simpson (for MASTERPIECE). The series is produced by Serena Cullen, with Steve Barron returning to direct the first four episodes, and Katherine Churcher directing the final two. Robert Thorogood also returns as executive producer.

Since its debut, The Marlow Murder Club has not only found TV success but has become a publishing phenomenon. The book series has now sold over one million copies across all formats and territories, with translation rights sold in 24 languages. The fourth novel, Murder on the Marlow Belle, was published in January 2025 to rave reviews.

The Marlow Murder Club‘ Season 3 will premiere in 2026 on U and U&DRAMA in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
