Paramount+ has confirmed that production is now underway in London on Season 2 of ‘The Agency: Central Intelligence‘, the hit espionage drama led by an all-star cast including Michael Fassbender (X-Men, Steve Jobs), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn, Without Remorse), and Richard Gere (Pretty Woman, MotherFatherSon).
A fresh reimagining of the acclaimed French series Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau internationally), the Paramount+ series follows Martian (Fassbender), a CIA agent who lives undercover not only on the job, but within his own identity. In Season 1, Martian’s world was thrown into chaos when his lover, Samia (Turner-Smith), became a political prisoner in Sudan. Now, production begins on the next chapter of the high-stakes spy thriller, promising more tension, betrayals, and deep-cover danger.
Season 2 continues the story of a man pushed beyond the brink. “The only way out is deeper in,” teases the official synopsis. Martian must walk a knife’s edge to save love, life, and his mission, even if it means crossing lines that can’t be uncrossed.
Also returning or joining the cast for the new season are Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts, Perry Mason), Harriet Sansom Harris (Desperate Housewives, Licorice Pizza), John Magaro (The Umbrella Academy, The Big Short), Saura Lightfoot-Leon (The Outlaws), Andrew Brooke (Sherlock, Da Vinci’s Demons), India Fowler (The Nevers), Reza Brojerdi (Tehran), and Alex Reznik (The Americans).
The Agency is executive produced by Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz (MTV Entertainment Studios); David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari (101 Studios); George Clooney and Grant Heslov (Smokehouse Pictures); Alex Berger (TOP – The Originals Productions); Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton (Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America); and Michael Fassbender and Joe Wright.
The series is written and executive produced by Tony winner Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Edge of Tomorrow), and is commissioned by Paramount+ in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. Co-distribution is handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studios.
‘The Agency: Central Intelligence‘ Season 1 is available to stream now exclusively on Paramount+ UK and internationally. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
