Dexter Morgan is back… again. Paramount+ has released the official trailer for ‘Dexter: Resurrection‘, the next chapter in the long-running Dexter saga, with Michael C. Hall reprising his iconic role. The series premieres in July 2025, with the first two episodes dropping on Paramount+, followed by weekly releases.
Unveiled during a panel at CCXP in Mexico City, the trailer offers a first look at what lies ahead for the complicated killer, as he emerges from the dramatic conclusion of Dexter: New Blood, this time battered, hunted, and seeking redemption.
The Story So Far…
Dexter: Resurrection picks up just weeks after the explosive finale of New Blood, where Dexter took a bullet to the chest… from his own son. Somehow surviving, Dexter awakens from a coma to find Harrison (played by Jack Alcott) has vanished without a trace. Wracked with guilt and desperate to set things right, Dexter heads to New York City to track down his son, but quickly discovers that closure comes with complications.
As old ghosts stir, Angel Batista (played once again by David Zayas) turns up with questions, and Dexter realises that escaping his past won’t be so easy this time. In a city where darkness never sleeps, father and son are both forced to confront the killers they’ve become, and whether the only way out might be through each other.

Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), the series features Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) as Harrison Morgan, David Zayas (Dexter, Gotham) as Detective Angel Batista, Uma Thurman (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction) as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Chi) as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf (Law & Order: SVU) as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez (Orange Is the New Black) as Elsa Rivera, James Remar (Dexter, Black Lightning) as Harry Morgan, and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Leon Prater. Guest stars include Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian.
Behind the Scenes
Showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips returns to the franchise after his work on Dexter, Dexter: New Blood, and Dexter: Original Sin. He’s joined by fellow executive producers Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Marcos Siega. Monica Raymund will direct four episodes, with Siega directing the remaining six. Dexter: Resurrection is produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. The series follows the success of Dexter: Original Sin, a prequel series that premiered in December and became the most-streamed SHOWTIME premiere in history, with over 2.1 million global viewers.
