‘The Consultant’ – Christoph Waltz Thriller Series Arrives On ITVX This Sunday

by Dave Elliott

ITVX is adding another new free-to-air premiere title to its streaming catalogue this weekend, as ‘The Consultant’, a twisted American thriller starring Christoph Waltz, debuts with all eight episodes dropping on Sunday, 8th June 2025.

Based on the 2015 novel by Bentley Little, The Consultant is a darkly comedic psychological thriller that dives deep into the sinister dynamics of corporate culture, specifically, the fraught relationship between employer and employee. What begins as a standard office shake-up quickly spirals into something far more disturbing.

What’s It About?

The series centres around CompWare, a mobile app-based gaming company that finds itself under new leadership following a mysterious shake-up. Enter Regus Patoff (played by Christoph WaltzInglourious Basterds, No Time To Die), the enigmatic and unnervingly calm consultant brought in to “improve” business operations. But his presence quickly ushers in a series of escalating demands and surreal workplace disruptions… some of which turn deadly.

As employees Craig (Nat WolffPaper Towns), Elaine (Brittany O’GradyThe White Lotus), and Patti (Aimee CarreroElena of Avalor) struggle to make sense of Patoff’s behaviour, they begin to realise that their jobs, and lives, may be in serious danger.

Behind the Scenes

The series was created by Tony Basgallop (Servant), who serves as showrunner and executive producer. Also executive producing are Matt Shakman (WandaVision), who directed the pilot episode, along with Christoph Waltz, Steve Stark, and Andrew Mittman. Kai Dolbashian serves as producer.

Originally released on Prime Video, The Consultant makes its UK free-to-air debut this week via ITVX, adding to the platform’s growing collection of edgy thrillers and international dramas.

All eight episodes of The Consultant will be available to stream on Sunday, 8th June 2025, on ITVX.
