Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for ‘Ballard‘, the latest gripping series set in the Bosch universe, starring Maggie Q (Nikita, Designated Survivor) in the lead role. Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels, the ten-episode series will premiere globally this July on the streaming platform.
Ballard follows Detective Renée Ballard as she steps up to lead the LAPD’s newly established, underfunded cold case division. Driven by empathy and relentless determination, Ballard tackles some of Los Angeles’s most complex unsolved crimes, including a series of serial killings and the mystery of a murdered John Doe, only to uncover a conspiracy that reaches deep into the heart of the LAPD.
Alongside a small volunteer team and with help from retired detective Harry Bosch, played once again by Titus Welliver (Bosch, Deadwood), Ballard faces personal trauma, professional challenges, and life-threatening dangers as she pursues long-buried truths.
The ensemble cast also features Courtney Taylor (Insecure), John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story), Michael Mosley (Ozark), Rebecca Field (The Resident), Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf), Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.), Ricardo Chavira (Desperate Housewives), Noah Bean (12 Monkeys), Alain Uy (Helstrom), and Hector Hugo (Mayans M.C.).
Ballard is executive produced by Michael Connelly, Henrik Bastin, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Trish Hofmann, Jet Wilkinson, and Melissa Aouate, with co-executive producers Jasmine Russ (Fabel Entertainment), Jamie Boscardin Martin, Trey Batchelor, and Theresa Snider (Hieronymus Pictures).
