Apple TV+ has unveiled the thrilling first trailer for the third season of Foundation, the sweeping sci-fi series based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov and developed by David S. Goyer.

Starring Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Lee Pace (Halt and Catch Fire) and Lou Llobell (Voyagers), the new season picks up 152 years after the events of season two. The Foundation has evolved into a dominant force in the galaxy, while the once-mighty Cleonic Empire continues to crumble. As the two powers form an uneasy alliance, a new and terrifying threat emerges in the form of “The Mule” – a fearsome warlord with devastating military might and the ability to control minds.

The series blends bold storytelling, dazzling visuals and rich world-building, continuing to chart the monumental journey of exiles fighting to preserve knowledge and civilisation amidst the Empire’s collapse. With the fate of the galaxy in the balance, Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons, and Demerzel are drawn into a deadly game of cosmic consequence.

Season three introduces a number of new faces to the cast, including Cherry Jones (Succession), Brandon P. Bell (Dear White People), Synnøve Karlsen (Medici), Cody Fern (American Horror Story), Tómas Lemarquis (Blade Runner 2049), Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Troy Kotsur (CODA), and Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones). Returning cast members include Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann, and Rowena King.

Produced by Skydance Television, the series counts David S. Goyer, Bill Bost, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Matt Thunell, Robyn Asimov, David Kob, Christopher J. Byrne, Leigh Dana Jackson, Jane Espenson, and Roxann Dawson among its executive producers.

Foundation‘, Season 3 premieres Friday, 11th July 2025 on Apple TV+.
