‘In Flight’, a gripping new crime-thriller series, has released its first look images, offering a tense glimpse at the life of a flight attendant who finds herself caught between international borders, criminal syndicates, and a desperate fight to save her son.
Launching later this year, ‘In Flight’ is a high-octane 6×60’ drama produced by Buccaneer Media (The Crow Girl, Marcella, The Burning Girls), written and co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy), produced by Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh), and directed by Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star).
The first images introduce award-winning Katherine Kelly (Mr Bates vs the Post Office, The Long Shadow, Happy Valley) as Jo Conran, a single mum and flight attendant whose world unravels when she’s blackmailed into drug smuggling. With her son imprisoned in Bulgaria for a murder he insists he didn’t commit, Jo is coerced by a criminal gang into using her airline job to move contraband between countries.
Stuart Martin (Rebel Moon, Miss Scarlet and The Duke) plays Cormac, a senior gang member who drags Jo into the operation, while Ashley Thomas (Them, Top Boy) stars as Dom Delaney, Jo’s ex and a Customs Officer who becomes her only hope for escaping the criminal web she’s caught in.
As Jo is swept into an underworld of corruption, assassins, and international crime, her one goal remains clear – to keep her son alive, no matter the cost.
The ensemble cast also includes Bronagh Waugh as Melanie, Harry Cadby as Sonny, Corinna Brown as Kayla, and Ambreen Razia as Zara.
Set against the high-pressure world of international air travel, the story unfolds across a range of dynamic global locations including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul, and London. Filming took place in Belfast earlier this year, supported by funding from Northern Ireland Screen.
Executive Producers are Anna Burns, Richard Tulk-Hart, and Tony Wood for Buccaneer, Rebecca Dundon and Simon Judd for Fremantle, alongside Mike Walden, Adam Randall, Katherine Kelly, and Chris Baugh.
ProSieben has pre-bought the series for Germany, with SBS taking it for Australia and TVNZ for New Zealand. Fremantle handles global sales.
‘In Flight’ does not yet have a premiere date but will air in the UK later in 2025. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
