Fans of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder‘ are in for a treat, as the BBC unveils a first look at Season 2 and introduces several new faces joining the mystery alongside returning lead Emma Myers (Wednesday) as Pip Fitz-Amobi.
The second season of the hit drama, which is based on the bestselling novels by Holly Jackson, sees Pip drawn into another gripping case following the events of Season 1. But while she may be trying to avoid investigations, the sudden disappearance of a local boy makes that impossible.
About the Show
Season 1 was a breakout success when it premiered in Summer 2024, becoming BBC iPlayer’s top-rated drama with 16-24s and the highest-rated BBC Three drama since its relaunch. Now, the story continues as Pip deals with the fallout of solving the Andie Bell case – and finds herself once again entangled in a dangerous mystery.
When Connor’s brother Jamie suddenly vanishes ahead of Max Hastings’ trial, Pip is forced to confront unsettling questions about justice, consequences, and how far she’s willing to go. The new series promises an emotional and suspenseful ride, as Pip ventures deeper into Little Kilton’s darkest secrets.
New Cast for Season 2
Alongside Emma Myers, Series 2 introduces three key new cast members taking on fan-favourite characters from the books:
- Misia Butler (KAOS) plays Stanley Forbes, a character with hidden connections who becomes increasingly significant as the investigation unfolds.
- Eden Hambelton-Davies (Tell Me Everything) takes on the role of Jamie Reynolds, a quiet but well-liked musician whose disappearance sends shockwaves through the town.
- Jack Rowan (Noughts And Crosses) joins as Charlie Green, Pip’s mysterious new neighbour with secrets of his own.
Author and writer Holly Jackson had high praise for the trio, saying:
“Eden is sensational as our Jamie, his presence felt throughout, even though he’s missing. Misia is the perfect Stanley Forbes, delivering a truly heart-wrenching performance. And Jack as Charlie Green is simply extraordinary: I had to stand and clap at the monitors. Just you wait.”
They’ll be joined by Anna Brindle (The Outs), Peter Sullivan (Around The World In 80 Days), Freddie Thorp (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lu Corfield (The Crow Girl), Stephanie Street (Breathtaking), and Freddie England in key roles.
Returning from Season 1 are Zain Iqbal (Death, Whatever!), Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane), Asha Banks (My Fault: London), Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz), and Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go).
Production Details
The six-part second series was commissioned by BBC Drama and BBC Three, with production from Moonage Pictures (The Gentlemen, Bodies), in co-production with Netflix and Germany’s ZDFneo. It has been adapted by Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan, with Sophie Klein producing. Asim Abbasi and Jill Robertson direct.
Executive producers include Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage, with Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond for the BBC, alongside Holly Jackson, Poppy Cogan, and Asim Abbasi.
The series will premiere on the BBC in the UK, on Netflix internationally (excluding the UK and Ireland), on ZDFneo in Germany, and on Stan in Australia.
