UK fans of ‘All American’ got a surprise this weekend as streaming service ITVX quietly added both Season 6 and Season 7 of the hit US drama, with no official announcement. All episodes from both seasons are now available to stream in full.
‘All American’ is inspired by the real-life story of professional American football player Spencer Paysinger. The series follows Spencer James, a rising high school football star from South Los Angeles, who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. As Spencer navigates two very different worlds, the show explores themes of identity, family, ambition, and systemic inequality, while also tackling wider social and political issues.
Created by April Blair, the series has been a long-running success for US network The CW and has built a strong fanbase internationally thanks to its grounded storytelling and compelling character arcs.
Season 6 picks up after a dramatic cliffhanger, with Spencer and Jordan now eligible for the NFL draft. Layla opens her new lounge, Olivia returns to LA, and Asher and Jaymee adjust to parenthood. The season focuses on the characters transitioning into adulthood, balancing careers, relationships, and personal trauma. Originally set for 13 episodes, the season was expanded to 15 episodes in the US following a strong performance.
Season 7, which aired earlier this year in the US, marks a shift in focus as Spencer takes a step back from the spotlight. A new school year begins, introducing fresh characters and storylines while continuing arcs for Jordan, Olivia, Layla, Coop, and others. The season explores themes of reinvention, with characters reevaluating their goals and relationships. Daniel Ezra (Spencer James) appears in a reduced role, helping to pass the torch to the next generation.
The series stars Daniel Ezra (A Discovery of Witches) as Spencer James, alongside Samantha Logan (13 Reasons Why) as Olivia, Michael Evans Behling (Empire) as Jordan, Greta Onieogou (Heartland) as Layla, Bre-Z (Empire) as Coop, and Cody Christian (Teen Wolf) as Asher. Later seasons also introduce Alexis Chikaeze (Miss Juneteenth) and Osy Ikhile (The Feed) in recurring roles.
In June 2025, The CW officially renewed ‘All American’ for an eighth and final season, which is expected to premiere in 2026. The final run will consist of 13 episodes and aims to deliver a “powerful conclusion” to Spencer’s journey and the lives he’s impacted. Speaking about the renewal, CW Entertainment President Brad Schwartz praised the show’s cultural impact and the “enduring legacy” it has created.
‘All American’ is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions. April Blair created the series and is executive produced by Blair, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Mike Herro, David Strauss, and Nkechi Okoro Carroll, who also serves as showrunner.
