Channel 4 has dropped the trailer for ‘In Flight‘, a compelling new six-part crime-thriller that takes viewers into the dark underworld of drug smuggling, blackmail and corruption. It is set against the high-pressure backdrop of international air travel.
Katherine Kelly (Mr Bates vs the Post Office, The Long Shadow, Happy Valley) leads the series as Jo Conran, a single mum and flight attendant whose life is turned upside down when her son is imprisoned in Bulgaria for a murder he swears he did not commit. Desperate to save him, Jo is blackmailed by a criminal gang and coerced into using her job to smuggle drugs. As Jo is drawn deeper into a world of corruption, hired killers and dangerous alliances, she is forced to carry out their demands while plotting an escape and trying to keep her son alive.
Joining the cast are Stuart Martin (Rebel Moon, Miss Scarlet and The Duke) as Cormac, a high-ranking member of the gang pulling Jo’s strings, and Ashley Thomas (Them, Top Boy) as Dom Delaney, Jo’s ex and a Customs Officer who may be her only hope of survival. They are joined by Bronagh Waugh, Harry Cadby, Corinna Brown and Ambreen Razia.
Created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy), the 6 episode series is produced by Buccaneer Media (The Crow Girl, Marcella, The Burning Girls) and directed by Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star). The production team also includes producer Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh) with executive producers Anna Burns, Richard Tulk-Hart, Tony Wood, Rebecca Dundon, Simon Judd, Mike Walden, Adam Randall, Katherine Kelly and Chris Baugh.
Filming took place across dynamic global locations, including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul and London, with studio work in Belfast supported by Northern Ireland Screen. ProSieben has pre-bought the series for Germany along with SBS for Australia and TVNZ for New Zealand, while Fremantle handles global sales.
