Sky has dropped the full trailer for the upcoming limited series ‘Task‘, the intense seven-part crime drama from acclaimed creator Brad Ingelsby (Mare of Easttown), starring Mark Ruffalo (I Know This Much Is True, The Avengers) and Tom Pelphrey (Ozark, Iron Fist).
Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, ‘Task’ follows an FBI agent, Tom (Ruffalo), who assembles a special Task Force to end a series of violent, well-coordinated robberies. Things take a morally complex turn when the team discovers the heists are being orchestrated by an unsuspecting family man, played by Pelphrey, forcing them to question how far justice should go when desperation collides with circumstance.
The series also introduces Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope, The Good Wife) as Kathleen McGinty, a career FBI agent who recruits Tom to head up the task force just as she is forced into retirement, and Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z) as Susan Brandis, Tom’s loving wife and the reason he left the priesthood.
Alongside Ruffalo, Pelphrey, Plimpton and Enos, the powerhouse cast includes Emilia Jones (CODA, Locke & Key), Jamie McShane (Bloodline, Wednesday), Sam Keeley (Kin, 68 Whiskey), Thuso Mbedu (The Underground Railroad, The Woman King), Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon, The Serpent), Alison Oliver (Conversations with Friends, Saltburn), Raúl Castillo (Looking, Army of the Dead), Silvia Dionicio (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Chicago P.D.), and Phoebe Fox (The Great, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death).
Behind the scenes, ‘Task’ is helmed by Jeremiah Zagar (We the Animals, Hustle) and Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, The Gilded Age), who also serve as executive producers. Ingelsby serves as creator, writer, and showrunner, with additional executive producers including Mark Roybal and Paul Lee for wiip, Mark Ruffalo, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt. Co-executive producers are Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches for Public Record.
‘Task‘ premieres Monday, 8th September 2025 on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK, and Sunday, 7th September 2025 on HBO in the US.
