Channel 4 has announced a brand new family sitcom, ‘Pigeon‘ (working title), created and written by Katy Wix (Big Boys, Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats) and Adam Drake (Extraordinary, Juice), and produced by Boffola Pictures (Am I Being Unreasonable?, The Power of Parker).
The series follows Kathryn (Katy Wix), who thought she had all the answers but didn’t listen to the question. After failed dreams and some questionable life choices, she is forced to leave the “big city” of Chester and return to her childhood home in South Wales, the very place she thought she had escaped.
Waiting for her are mum Mandy, an attention-seeking dance teacher with a touch of suburban glamour, and younger sister Aubrey, a teenage boy trapped in an adult woman’s body. Just up the road is her teenage ex, Roy, a big silly dog trapped in an adult man’s body, and her dad Rhodri, who only understands “women’s issues” if you explain them in car maintenance terms.
Described as a “flatshare comedy” where the flat is your family home and your roommates are the people who messed you up in the first place, ‘Pigeon’ promises a modern, warm, and eccentric take on the return-to-the-nest sitcom.

This sitcom instead brings you a typically wonky working-class family awash with off-the-wall characters. Katy and Adam have conjured up something that brings to mind The Royle Family with their depiction of life behind the front door.”
The 6 episode series is commissioned for Channel 4 by Charlie Perkins and Andy Brereton, with Shane Allen executive producing for Boffola Pictures alongside Katy Wix and Adam Drake. Joe Nunnery (Ladhood, Peaked) will produce, and BBC Studios will handle global sales.
