‘Ozzy: No Escape From Now’: Paramount+ Sets October Premiere and Unveils Trailer

by Dave Elliott

Paramount+ has announced that ‘Ozzy: No Escape From Now’, the definitive documentary about the Prince of Darkness, will premiere this October, and released a powerful teaser trailer offering fans a first look.

The feature-length film, directed by BAFTA-winner Tania Alexander, follows Ozzy Osbourne’s six-year health battle after a serious fall in 2019 forced him to cancel his farewell tour. What began as a record of his determination to return to the stage became a deeply personal chronicle of resilience, creativity, and the toll of illness.

Alongside candid interviews with Ozzy and Sharon, the documentary includes contributions from Aimee, Kelly and Jack Osbourne, who open up about the struggles and triumphs of recent years. “He was in hospital for weeks. To fall like that and not be able to bounce back like he had in the past, and then having to cancel the tour – that was his biggest heart-break,” recalls Aimee in the film. Sharon also speaks movingly about the depression her husband endured during recovery, while Ozzy himself shares how his collaboration with Post Malone on Take What You Want gave him the spark to create again.

That spark led to two acclaimed records – 2020’s Ordinary Man and 2022’s Patient Number 9 – both featured in the film. The documentary also showcases Ozzy’s last-minute decision to perform at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in 2022, exclusive footage from his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction soundcheck in 2024, and his final show in his hometown at Villa Park in July 2025.

The project was never intended as a posthumous release, but following Ozzy’s death in July 2025 it now serves as a fitting tribute. Friends, bandmates, and fellow rock icons appear to honour his legacy, including Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Duff McKagan and Slash (Guns N’ Roses), James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Billy Idol, Zakk Wylde, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Maynard James Keenan (Tool), and many more. Each provides heartfelt reflections on the man behind the music.

‘Ozzy: No Escape From Now’ is produced by UK outfit Echo Velvet in partnership with the Osbournes and MTV Entertainment Studios. Executive producers include Sharon Osbourne, Bruce Gillmer, Amanda Culkowski, and Phil Alexander, former editor of MOJO, Q, and Kerrang!.

‘Ozzy: No Escape From Now’ premieres Tuesday, 7th October 2025 on Paramount+ in the UK, US and internationally (excluding Japan).
