Apple TV+ has handed an early renewal to its flagship drama ‘The Morning Show’, confirming a fifth season just as the series drops its highly anticipated fourth season today.
Starring and executive produced by Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies) and Jennifer Aniston (Friends), the award-winning drama has been a global hit for the streamer since launch. The new season picks up in spring 2024, almost two years after the events of season three, and finds the newsroom adjusting to the completed UBA-NBN merger. With conspiracy theories, corporate cover-ups, deepfakes and shifting loyalties in play, the central question becomes: who can you trust, and how do you know what is real?
The cast also includes two-time Emmy winner Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), Mark Duplass (The League), Nestor Carbonell (Lost), Karen Pittman (And Just Like That), Greta Lee (Russian Doll), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), and Emmy winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men). New faces in season four include Aaron Pierre (The Underground Railroad), William Jackson Harper (The Good Place), Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), and Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) and Jeremy Irons (Watchmen).
Behind the scenes, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt and director Mimi Leder continue as executive producers, alongside Witherspoon, Aniston, and Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res. Hello Sunshine and Echo Films remain involved as producing partners.
Since its debut, ‘The Morning Show’ has become one of Apple TV+’s most decorated dramas, earning SAG, Emmy and Critics Choice Awards, including two Emmy wins for Crudup as the delightfully slippery Cory Ellison.
‘The Morning Show’ Season 4 premieres today, Wednesday, 17th September 2025, on Apple TV+.
