‘Cupertino’: Robert & Michelle King Reunite With Mike Colter For New CBS Legal Drama

by Dave Elliott

A decade after wrapping The Good Wife, creative duo Robert and Michelle King are heading back to the courtroom with a fresh legal drama for CBS. The network has officially ordered Cupertino, a new series starring Mike Colter (Evil, Luke Cage), which will debut during the 2026-27 season.

Set in the heart of Silicon Valley, ‘Cupertino’ puts a modern twist on the classic David vs. Goliath setup. Colter stars as a lawyer who finds himself cheated out of his stock options by a slick tech start-up. Refusing to let the big tech bullies win, he teams up with another recently fired attorney to take on the ultra-rich elite who exploit the system. Expect courtroom clashes, moral dilemmas, and plenty of the Kings’ trademark razor-sharp dialogue.

CBS reportedly greenlit the series after reviewing early material from the writers’ room, which opened in September. The Kings are serving as co-showrunners and executive producers under their King Size Productions banner, with Robert King also set to direct the premiere episode. Long-time collaborator Liz Glotzer joins as executive producer.

The project continues CBS’s long-term partnership with the Kings, who are already behind ‘Elsbeth’ and the much-loved supernatural hit ‘Evil’. ‘Cupertino’ joins ‘Einstein’, another CBS series starring Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds), as part of the network’s upcoming 2026-27 lineup.

While there’s no confirmed UK home yet, things are a little murky at the moment thanks to Paramount Global’s new ownership under Skydance. It’s not yet clear how the combined company plans to handle international distribution. They could continue to sell new CBS titles to other broadcasters such as Sky or UKTV, or they may take a page from Disney’s playbook and start hoarding their own content exclusively for Paramount+ UK. For now, both options are very much on the table, so we’ll be keeping an eye on where ‘Cupertino’ lands.

Cupertino’ does not yet have a premiere date but will air on CBS in the US. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
