The BBC has confirmed that the brand new series of ‘The Traitors‘ will arrive at the start of the new year on BBC One and iPlayer. The smash hit psychological reality series returns for a fourth run, bringing fresh twists, tense missions and the familiar cocktail of trust, treachery and absolute chaos inside the Scottish castle.
Hosted once again by Claudia Winkleman, ‘The Traitors’ sees 22 contestants from across the UK step into a high-stakes game where lies are currency and paranoia is practically a sport. Working together while never quite knowing who to trust, the group faces deception, banishments and late-night murders as they attempt to expose the Traitors and win up to £120k.
For fans who crave even more cloak-swirling analysis, ‘The Traitors’ companion series The Traitors: Uncloaked is also returning. The visualised podcast will kick off on BBC Two straight after the main series premiere, then move to BBC One for the remainder of the run. Hosted by Ed Gamble, the show breaks down each episode with celebrity guests and former players, and will also be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds.
Behind the scenes, the new 12-episode series is produced by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with executive producers Mike Cotton, Sarah Fay, Lewis Thurlow and Darrell Olsen. The format originated in the Netherlands as De Verraders, created by IDTV in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit, and has since become a global phenomenon through All3Media International.
‘The Traitors’ Series 4 premieres Thursday, 1st January 2026 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
