Netflix has released the first teaser for ‘The Night Agent‘ Season 3, which returns in February and finds Peter Sutherland caught in a web of dark money, assassins, and political secrets that ripple from Washington to Istanbul, Mexico City, New York, and beyond. The globe-trotting scale is matched by a deeper dive into Peter’s psyche as he confronts the personal cost of life in the Night Action programme.
Creator Shawn Ryan previews a season that goes big on scope and even bigger on consequences. He comments: “Season 3 of The Night Agent takes our audience on an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride across Istanbul, Mexico City, Washington, D.C., New York and the Dominican Republic as Peter grapples with a dangerous conspiracy at the heart of the White House… Amidst these new characters and challenges, Peter will reckon with hard truths and confront the impact of what being a Night Agent has personally cost him and how it has changed him, for better and for worse.”
In the new run, Peter is tasked with tracking down a young Treasury Agent who has fled to Istanbul with highly sensitive intel after killing his boss. That single catastrophic incident sets off a chain reaction across multiple countries as Peter uncovers a dark money network and dodges the assassins hired to silence him. He soon crosses paths with a relentless journalist, and together they unearth secrets capable of bringing down the government. Naturally, it also puts them directly in the firing line.
The cast features returning series regulars Gabriel Basso (Hillbilly Elegy), Louis Herthum (Westworld), Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Callum Vinson (Avatar: The Last Airbender), David Lyons (Revolution), Fola Evans-Akingbola (Siren), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Albert Jones (Mindhunter), Ward Horton (The Gilded Age), and Genesis Rodriguez (Big Hero 6).
Behind the camera, the season is led by showrunner Shawn Ryan, with directors including Guy Ferland, Adam Arkin, Paris Barclay, Hiromi Kamata, and Billy Gierhart across the ten-episode run. Writing duties come from Munis Rashid, Anayat Fakhraie, Seth Fisher, Eileen Myers, Corey Deshon, Imogen Browder, Andres Smith, and Aiyana White, with Sony Pictures Television producing.
