Disney+ has dropped a glossy set of first look character images for the eagerly awaited new season of ‘Rivals‘, giving fans an early peek at the drama, decadence and simmering tension heading our way in 2026. The award-winning series based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s bestselling novel looks every bit as opulent and explosive as viewers remember.
The fresh stills focus on five of the saga’s biggest personalities. David Tennant (Doctor Who, The Thursday Murder Club) returns as the formidable Lord Tony Baddingham, joined by Alex Hassell (The Tragedy of Macbeth, The Boys) as Rupert Campbell Black, Aidan Turner (Poldark, The Hobbit Trilogy) as Declan O’Hara, Nafessa Williams (Black Lighting, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody) as Cameron Cook and Bella Maclean (Sex Education, London Tide) as Taggie O’Hara.
Currently filming in the UK, ‘Rivals’ picks up in the glamorous Cotswolds and the ruthless 1980s world of British television, where power struggles, ambition and barely contained grudges threaten careers and relationships. With last season’s nail-biting cliffhanger still looming large, Tony Baddingham is back and more determined than ever to keep Corinium’s empire untouchable, no matter the cost. This next chapter promises sharper claws, bigger twists and even more beautifully chaotic entanglements.
The returning cast is joined by new additions as creators Dominic Treadwell Collins, Laura Wade and the wider writing and directing team build on the show’s signature mix of high stakes, biting wit and sumptuous drama. The series continues to be produced by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios, with Season 1 available to stream on Disney+ now.
