Paramount+ is riding high in the saddle as ‘Landman‘ returns in spectacular fashion. The streamer has confirmed the hit drama will be back for a third season, following the explosive launch of season two, which has been lighting up the charts throughout November.
Season two of ‘Landman’ arrived in mid-November and promptly barged its way into Nielsen’s weekly top rankings. Early data shows the series landing among the top three original shows for the week of launch, then climbing to a top two position the following week as viewers kept flocking to the oil-soaked drama. Paramount+ also reports a huge viewership spike with more than 9.2 million streams for the season two premiere in its first two days on the platform, marking a massive 262 per cent increase over season one and cementing it as the most-watched original series premiere in the service’s history.
The series comes from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, continuing Sheridan’s ever-expanding footprint across the Paramount universe. The cast is stacked with familiar faces, including Billy Bob Thornton (Goliath), Demi Moore (Feud), Andy Garcia (Rebel), Ali Larter (Heroes), and Sam Elliott (1883), alongside Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.
Season two sets the stakes even higher as oil rises from the earth and secrets bubble up with it. Thornton’s Tommy Norris is pushed ever closer to breaking point as pressure mounts from M Tex Oil, Demi Moore’s Cami Miller, and the heavy weight of his own family history. West Texas remains unforgiving, and survival is brutal which is exactly why viewers keep coming back.
