Lastly in our main categories, we come to the Most Anticipated TV Series, Film & Game of 2026.
This category looks firmly ahead, covering the new TV shows, movies, and games Geektown readers are most excited about over the next twelve months. As with previous years, the results are dominated by familiar franchises — but with a few interesting surprises lurking just below the surface.
Here’s what you voted for.
Most Anticipated TV Series Of 2026
Nominees:
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – HBO
Blade Runner 2099 – Prime Video
Lanterns – HBO
Neuromancer – Apple TV
Spider-Noir – MGM+ / Prime Video
Star City – Apple TV
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy – Paramount+
Vision Quest – Disney+
Wonder Man – Disney+
Bronze: Star Trek: Starfleet Academy – Paramount+
Silver: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms – HBO
Gold Winner: Blade Runner 2099 – Prime Video

Much like last year’s results, it’s the biggest and most recognisable science-fiction worlds that dominate the podium. However, this time it’s Blade Runner 2099 which takes the top spot, edging out HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Set decades after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the series promises a return to one of the most iconic dystopian futures in television and film history. With Ridley Scott attached as an executive producer, anticipation is understandably high, as audiences prepare to revisit the rain-soaked neon streets of this world once again.
Behind it, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues to show the enduring pull of Westeros, while Star Trek: Starfleet Academy rounds out the top three, proving there’s still strong enthusiasm for expanding the Star Trek universe in new directions.

Silver: Fable – Playground Games
Gold Winner: Grand Theft Auto VI – Rockstar Games
Much like last year, there was one category where the outcome felt inevitable from the moment voting opened.
Grand Theft Auto VI doesn’t just take gold — it dominates the category, once again proving that Rockstar’s return to Vice City is one of the most anticipated entertainment releases of the decade. Following its delay from 2025, hype has only intensified, with players eagerly awaiting what is promised to be the most ambitious entry in the series to date.
Behind it, Fable and Marvel’s Wolverine form a strong second tier, while the rest of the shortlist highlights a packed year for sequels, reboots, and long-awaited follow-ups across the gaming landscape.
Most Anticipated Movie Of 2026
Nominees:
Avengers: Doomsday
Dune: Part Three
Masters of the Universe
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
The Devil Wears Prada 2
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender
The Odyssey
Toy Story 5
Bronze: Dune: Part Three
Silver: Toy Story 5
Gold Winner: Avengers: Doomsday
If there were any doubts about superhero fatigue, the results here suggest audiences are still very much on board… provided the film is positioned as a genuine event.
Taking the top spot, Avengers: Doomsday emerges as Geektown readers’ most anticipated movie of 2026, finishing ahead of Pixar’s Toy Story 5 and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three. With the MCU building toward its next major crossover moment, anticipation for this instalment clearly outweighs even some of the biggest franchise entries on the slate.
Further down the list, strong showings for The Mandalorian & Grogu and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping underline just how sequel-heavy, yet varied, the upcoming year in cinema is shaping up to be.
Taken together, these categories offer a clear snapshot of what Geektown readers are most excited about next: a mix of beloved franchises, long-awaited sequels, and ambitious expansions of familiar worlds.
That brings the Geektown Awards 2025 to a close. Thanks once again to everyone who voted, read along, and joined us as we looked back at the year that was — and ahead to what’s coming next.
