Geektown Radio Awards Results Podcast, The Votes Are In

by Dave Elliott

The votes have been counted, the spreadsheets have been interrogated, and the annual arguments have officially begun. In this special awards edition of Geektown Radio, Dave is joined by Matt to dig into the results of the Geektown Awards 2025, entirely spoiler-free, at least until you hit play.

Thousands of votes came in from Geektown readers, shaping a results list that covers TV, film, games, sci-fi, comedy, procedurals, animation, British TV, and those hotly debated “most anticipated” categories. Some outcomes were expected, others genuinely surprising, and a few prompted long pauses followed by phrases like “I did not see that coming.”

Rather than just reading out winners, the podcast breaks down the trends behind the votes. Why certain genres dominated this year. Where long-running franchises still have serious power. Which newer shows punched well above their weight. And which categories were decided by margins so small they nearly caused spreadsheet-related panic.

There’s also discussion about what these results say about viewing habits right now, the difference between comfort TV and event TV, and how gaming votes sometimes follow very different rules to film and television. Plus, a few gentle jabs at each other’s blind spots, as tradition demands.

If you voted, this is where you find out how closely your tastes align with the wider Geektown hive mind. If you didn’t, this is your spoiler-free invitation to discover just how passionate, and occasionally unpredictable, those votes turned out to be.

All results are revealed and discussed in full on the podcast itself.
