‘Mayor of Kingstown‘ has officially been crowned with an ending, as Paramount+ confirms the gritty crime drama has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
The series, which comes from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, will return for an eight-episode concluding run, bringing Mike McLusky’s brutal balancing act to a close.
Starring Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and Edie Falco (The Sopranos), the renewal follows a strong fourth season, which wrapped in late December and currently holds a rare 100% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season four saw Mike’s grip on Kingstown seriously tested as new criminal forces rushed to fill the void left behind by the Russians. With a full-scale gang war brewing, Mike was forced into increasingly dangerous territory to stop the town from being torn apart. At the same time, the arrival of a headstrong new Warden and escalating threats to those closest to him meant Mike was also battling his own past demons while trying to protect what little stability remained.
Alongside Renner and Falco, the fourth season cast included Lennie James (The Walking Dead), Laura Benanti (Younger), Hugh Dillon (Yellowstone), Taylor Handley (The OC), Tobi Bamtefa (The Witcher), Derek Webster (American Gods), Hamish Allan-Headley (Snowfall), and Nishi Munshi (Blindspot).
The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, Hugh Dillon, Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Christoph Schrewe, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo and Keith Cox, with Erickson also serving as showrunner.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Season 5 does not yet have a premiere date, but will air on Paramount+ in the UK. If I want to keep track of this or any other shows, I can add them via our Never Miss system, and I’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
