Prime Video has dropped the official trailer for ‘Steal’, giving us our first proper look at the high-stakes heist thriller ahead of its January launch. The focus here is very much on tension, momentum and moral grey areas, as an ordinary working day spirals into something far more dangerous.
The trailer sets the tone fast. A pension fund investment firm becomes the target of a violent, meticulously planned robbery, with office worker Zara suddenly forced into the centre of events. What makes the hook particularly nasty is the scale of the crime. This is not cash in a vault, but billions of pounds belonging to everyday people. The trailer leans hard into that ethical pressure, asking who would do this and why, while hinting that nothing about the operation is quite as simple as it first appears.
Leading the cast is Sophie Turner, who plays Zara, an unassuming employee pushed into making impossible choices. She is joined by Archie Madekwe as Luke, her best mate and fellow hostage, and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd as DCI Rhys, the detective tasked with stopping the crime while quietly battling his own relapsed gambling addiction. The trailer smartly weaves these threads together, suggesting a story as interested in personal weakness as it is in procedural mechanics.
Behind the scenes, the series is created and written by Sotiris Nikias, with executive producers Greg Brenman and Rebecca de Souza. Direction duties are shared between Sam Miller and Hettie MacDonald, with production handled by Amazon MGM Studios alongside Drama Republic. The pedigree shows in the trailer, which feels polished, sharp and deliberately paced rather than reliant on spectacle alone.
All six episodes of ‘Steal’ will drop together, making it very much a binge-friendly release for anyone who enjoys tense, contained thrillers with a moral bite.
