‘Saint-Pierre’ Heads to the UK as UKTV Snaps Up Acclaimed Canadian Crime Drama

UKTV has picked up the Canadian police procedural ‘Saint-Pierre’, securing UK rights to the hit drama following its strong performance in Canada.

The series, produced by Hawco Productions for CBC, is being distributed internationally by Fifth Season, with UKTV joining a growing list of global buyers that also includes France Télévisions in France and ABC in Australia. Additional deals have been struck with broadcasters across Europe, Australasia and the Middle East, underlining the show’s international appeal.

At this stage, UKTV has not confirmed which of its channels will air ‘Saint-Pierre’, nor has it announced a UK premiere date. While crime dramas of this kind often find a home on U&Alibi, no official channel placement has been revealed.

‘Saint-Pierre’ is set in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, a remote French territory in the North Atlantic just off the coast of Newfoundland. The story follows Inspector Donny “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, a disgraced detective exiled to the islands after probing corruption back home, who finds himself navigating complex crimes in an isolated community where everyone knows everyone.

The drama stars Josephine Jobert (Death in Paradise) alongside Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle, Jack Ryan) and James Purefoy (Rome, Sex Education). The wider cast includes Benz Antoine (Four Brothers), Erika Prevost (The Boys) and Jean-Michel Le Gal (Accused).

Created by Allan Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford and Perry Chafe, the series proved a major success for CBC, becoming the broadcaster’s most-watched new series of the year in Canada. That success led to a second season renewal, with season two launching on CBC and CBC Gem in January 2026.

With UKTV now on board, ‘Saint-Pierre’ looks set to join the growing slate of international crime dramas making their way to UK audiences, even if details on its exact UK landing spot remain under wraps for now.
