Imperfect Women: Apple TV Drops Tense First Teaser for Elisabeth Moss & Kerry Washington Thriller

by Dave Elliott

Apple TV has unveiled the first teaser for Imperfect Women, a new limited psychological thriller coming this March, led by Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington, who also executive produce the series.

Based on the novel by Araminta Hall, ‘Imperfect Women’ explores the aftermath of a crime that fractures a decades-long friendship between three women. What begins as a police investigation quickly becomes something more intimate and unsettling, peeling back layers of guilt, betrayal, and the quiet compromises that can reshape a life. As the truth emerges, the series asks how well we really know the people closest to us.

The eight-episode series is created for television by Annie Weisman, who also serves as showrunner following her previous collaboration with Apple TV on ‘Physical’. The story unfolds weekly, leaning into psychological tension rather than easy answers.

Alongside Moss and Washington, the ensemble cast includes Kate Mara (House of Cards), Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), Corey Stoll (House of Cards), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Audrey Zahn (Wildcat), Jill Wagner (Special Ops: Lioness), Rome Flynn (With Love), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Violette Linnz (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Indiana Elle (The Housemaid), Jackson Kelly (The Pitt), Keith Carradine (Madam Secretary), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), and Wilson Bethel (All Rise).

Behind the camera, the series is directed in part by Lesli Linka Glatter, who helms episodes one, four and five, and also executive produces. Production comes from 20th Television and Apple Studios, with Moss producing via Love & Squalor Pictures and Washington through Simpson Street.

‘Imperfect Women’ will launch with its first two episodes, followed by weekly instalments through late April.

‘Imperfect Women’ premieres Wednesday, 18th March 2026 on Apple TV.
