Sky has confirmed an April launch for ‘The Miniature Wife’, its new Sky Exclusive comedy-drama starring Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen.
All episodes of the series will land on Sky and streaming service NOW this April in the UK and Ireland, bringing a darkly comic take on marriage, power, and what happens when a relationship imbalance becomes very literal.
In ‘The Miniature Wife’, Banks plays a woman whose life is upended when a technological accident unexpectedly shrinks her. Her husband, played by Macfadyen, is left to navigate the fallout as their already complicated marriage spirals into a razor-sharp battle for control. What starts as a high-concept premise quickly becomes a pointed, often biting exploration of modern relationships.
Alongside Banks and Macfadyen, the cast includes Zoe Lister-Jones (Slip, Beau Is Afraid), O?T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent), Sian Clifford (Fleabag), and Sofia Rosinsky (Paper Girls). Recurring roles are filled by Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black.
The series is based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales and is created by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, who also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Greg Mottola directs multiple episodes and executive produces, with Banks and Macfadyen also on board as execs.
Produced by Media Res and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, the 10-episode dramedy continues Sky’s run of glossy, talent-driven originals with a slightly unhinged edge.
‘The Miniature Wife’ premieres Thursday, 9th April 2026, on Sky and NOW. The series also premieres Thursday, April 9 on Peacock in the USA, with all 10 episodes.
