Prime Video has unveiled the first full trailer and key art for ‘Young Sherlock’, offering a proper look at Guy Ritchie’s fast-talking, high-energy take on the legendary detective’s origins. The eight-part drama launches this March and, if the trailer is anything to go by, this is very much Sherlock Holmes by way of swagger, attitude, and kinetic action.
The trailer introduces a teenage Sherlock Holmes, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After), long before Baker Street, pipe smoke, or polite society. This Sherlock is sharp, rebellious, and already dangerously clever. When he encounters James Moriarty for the first time, a murder investigation spirals into a globe-spanning conspiracy that threatens his freedom and forces him into his very first case. Victorian England provides the backdrop, but the tone is anything but dusty, leaning hard into Ritchie’s trademark snap, style, and momentum.
While ‘Young Sherlock’ is clearly positioning itself as an origin story, the trailer suggests the series is more interested in attitude than reverence. Expect street fights, rapid deductions, conspiracies, and a Sherlock who is still learning how to weaponise his brilliance. It feels closer in spirit to Ritchie’s earlier Holmes films than traditional adaptations, with quick cuts, bold visuals, and a playful sense of menace.
The cast glimpsed in the trailer includes Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech). Guy Ritchie directs the opening two episodes and executive produces, with Matthew Parkhill serving as showrunner.
All eight episodes of ‘Young Sherlock’ land together, making this very much a binge-ready mystery with ambitions well beyond a simple prequel.
‘Young Sherlock’ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 4th March 2026 on Prime Video.
