Netflix Drops Teaser For Wedding Horror ‘Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’ Landing This March

by Dave Elliott

Netflix has unveiled the first teaser for Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, a chilling new limited horror series arriving this March, and if you were planning a cosy spring wedding binge, you may want to rethink the mood lighting.

The eight-episode series comes from executive producers behind Stranger Things and is directed by Weronika Tofilska, known for her work on Baby Reindeer. Created by Haley Z. Boston, the show takes what should be the happiest week of a couple’s life and drenches it in dread.

Set in the days leading up to an intimate forest wedding, the story follows bride Rachel, played by Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six), and her fiancé Nicky, portrayed by Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus). The pair head to his family’s secluded snowy retreat for their ceremony. It should be romantic. It should be peaceful. It absolutely is not.

Rachel is plagued by an escalating sense of foreboding. Superstitions, strange coincidences, and mounting paranoia begin to erode what should be certainty. The central horror is not just what might be lurking in the woods, but the deeper question at the heart of any commitment: what if you are about to bind yourself to the wrong person?

The series leans into classic horror lineage, evoking the psychological unease of Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby, reframing marriage itself as a transformation with potentially terrifying consequences.

Alongside Morrone and DiMarco, the cast includes Jeff Wilbusch (Unorthodox), Karla Crome (Carnival Row), Gus Birney (Dickinson), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), and Sawyer Fraser.

Behind the camera, the show is executive produced by Haley Z. Boston, Weronika Tofilska, Hilary Leavitt, Matt Duffer (Stranger Things), Ross Duffer (Stranger Things) for Upside Down Productions, and Andrea Sperling. Episodes are directed by Weronika Tofilska, Axelle Carolyn, and Lisa Brühlmann.

Wedding horror is having a moment, but this looks poised to lean heavily into atmosphere and psychological tension rather than outright slasher chaos. Snowbound isolation, creeping doubt, and that relentless question: are you sure he is the one?

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen’ premieres Thursday, 26th March 2026 on Netflix.
