Geekstorians has been nominated for a Webby Award!
Yep. Somehow, the podcast where I disappear into the strange, funny, chaotic stories behind geek culture has ended up nominated in the Podcasts – History category at the 30th Annual Webby Awards.
That means Geekstorians is now in the running not only for the main Webby selected by the academy, but also for the Webby People’s Voice Award, which is decided by public vote. Voting is open now and runs until Thursday, 16th April, so if you’ve enjoyed the show and want to support it, I’d hugely appreciate your vote.

Honestly, I’m a bit stunned by this.
Geekstorians started as a chance to dig into the stories behind the stories. The accidents, obsessions, near-disasters and weird cultural turns that helped shape modern geek culture. From fandom history and comics to gaming, TV and all the bits of pop culture infrastructure that usually get left out of the headline version, the whole point has been to make history entertaining, accessible, and a little bit mischievous.
To see it recognised by the Webbys is kind of amazing.
It also comes at a pretty exciting moment for the show. The Geekstorians Easter Special drops this Friday, on Good Friday, followed directly by Season 2 the week after. And beyond that, Season 3 is already in the works.
So, if Geekstorians has ever made you laugh, sent you down a pop culture rabbit hole, or reminded you why this stuff matters in the first place, please take a moment to vote.
Voting closes on Thursday, 16th April.

And genuinely, thank you.
Whether you’ve been listening from episode one or just found the show recently, your support is a huge part of why this exists at all.
I’m Dave from Geektown, and apparently… Geekstorians is Webby-nominated!
