‘Good Omens‘ is finally heading back to Prime Video this May, with Michael Sheen (Staged, Masters of Sex) and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Rivals) reuniting for one last ineffable adventure in the fantasy comedy’s feature-length finale.
Rather than a full third season, Prime Video is bringing the story to a close with a 90-minute final episode, picking up after the emotional fallout of season two. With Aziraphale now back in Heaven as the newly appointed Supreme Archangel, and Crowley left heartbroken down on Earth, ‘Good Omens’ looks set to go out with a mix of celestial chaos, emotional baggage, and the sort of apocalyptic absurdity the show does best.
According to the official synopsis, the finale sees Aziraphale struggling under the weight of overseeing the Second Coming, while Crowley finds himself drifting through Soho at rock bottom. As Heaven and Hell once again start causing problems for everyone involved, the pair are forced to confront their fractured relationship, old wounds, and whether their bond is still strong enough to save the world.
Alongside Sheen and Tennant, the returning cast includes Doon Mackichan (Toast of London, Smack the Pony) as Michael, Gloria Obianyo (Dune, The Sandman) as Uriel, Liz Carr (Silent Witness, The Witcher) as Saraqael, Paul Chahidi (This Country, The Serpent Queen) as Sandalphon, Quelin Sepulveda (Havoc, The Man Who Fell to Earth) as Muriel, and Sir Derek Jacobi (Vicious, Gladiator II) as The Metatron. Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary, Sparks) also joins the cast as Jesus.
The finale is directed by Rachel Talalay, with Rob Wilkins for Narrativia, representing Terry Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Comedy’s Josh Cole serving as executive producers. Sarah-Kate Fenelon and Chris Newman produce.
Given how season two left things between Aziraphale and Crowley, and the fact that this is now a one-off finale rather than a full season, this looks very much like Prime Video going all in on giving the story a proper send-off. Thankfully, from the sound of it, that still includes Hellish threats, plenty of divine dysfunction, and a lot of emotional chaos between everyone’s favourite angel and demon.
