Paramount Sets ‘SkyMed’ Season 4 Return For May As New Crew Brings Fresh Chaos To The Canadian North

by Dave Elliott

Paramount has unveiled the trailer and key art for SkyMed Season 4, confirming the Canadian medical drama will return this May with a fresh batch of high-risk rescues, new recruits, and what sounds like even more chaos for the air ambulance crew.

Set against the brutal and beautiful backdrop of the remote Canadian North, ‘SkyMed’ has always leaned more into the action and survival side of the medical drama formula, and that looks set to continue in the new season. With dense wilderness, raging rapids and isolated terrain all back in play, the series is once again throwing its characters into situations where help is hard to reach and every decision matters.

This time around, the established team is being shaken up by the arrival of rookie pilots and medics, with Paramount teasing a season where leaders start losing control, newcomers push boundaries, and emotions start getting in the way of protocol. Which, for a show about emergency crews flying into dangerous situations, is probably not ideal… but it does make for good television.

Returning cast members include Natasha Calis (Nurses) as Hayley, Morgan Holmstrom (Day of the Dead) as Crystal, Mercedes Morris (Ghost Wars) as Lexi, Sydney Kuhne (Ginny & Georgia) as Stef, and Aaron Ashmore (Ginny & Georgia, Killjoys) as Wheezer.

Joining them this season is Lauren Lee Smith (The Listener, Frankie Drake Mysteries) in a recurring role as Captain Riley, a globe-trotting pilot who has a past connection to Wheezer. New series regulars also include Shawn Ahmed (The Boys) as flight nurse Zay Patel, Leishe Meyboom (So Help Me Todd) as rookie flight nurse Piper Adler, Alexander Eling (The Recruit) as first officer Wyatt Ellis, and Cecilia Lee (Plan B) as pilot Maya Chang.

‘SkyMed’ is created by Julie Puckrin, who drew inspiration from her sister and brother-in-law, who met while flying air ambulances. The series is produced by Piazza Entertainment in association with Paramount+ in Canada and CBS Studios, and has been filmed in North Bay, Ontario and Manitoba.

For Paramount, the show continues to be a solid global original, and the move to make this season stream exclusively on Paramount+ in Canada marks a notable shift for the series as it heads into its fourth run.

‘SkyMed’ Season 4 premieres Wednesday, 21st May 2026 on Paramount+.
