Prime Video has dropped the full trailer for ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War’, giving us a much better look at John Krasinski’s return as the CIA analyst-turned-reluctant-action-hero for one final mission.
After four seasons of ‘Jack Ryan’, Prime Video is turning the franchise into a feature-length event, and from the look of this trailer, it is leaning hard into the big-screen spy thriller vibe. There is globe-trotting action, plenty of bruising hand-to-hand combat, political conspiracy, and the sort of ticking-clock chaos that made the series such a solid hit in the first place. As the tagline puts it, “No operation stays dark forever,” which feels like a pretty fitting way to send Jack back into the field.
The film sees John Krasinski (A Quiet Place), Wendell Pierce (The Wire), and Michael Kelly (House of Cards) all returning, with Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal) joining the cast as MI6 officer Emma Marlowe. From what Prime Video has shown so far, she looks set to play a major role as Jack is pulled into a dangerous conspiracy involving a rogue black-ops unit and an operation that appears to know exactly how his team works.
That continuation makes a lot of sense. ‘Jack Ryan’ always worked best when it balanced grounded intelligence work with big international stakes, and shifting into a one-off movie feels like a natural next step rather than just spinning the wheels for another season. The trailer definitely suggests Prime Video is going for something bigger, louder, and more personal, whilst still keeping the political intrigue and pressure-cooker tension that defined the series.
Behind the camera, the film is directed by Andrew Bernstein, with a screenplay by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski, from a story by Noah Oppenheim and Krasinski, based on characters created by Tom Clancy. The wider cast also includes Max Beesley (Hijack), JJ Feild (Foundation), Douglas Hodge (The Great), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), and Miller.
It definitely looks like Prime Video wants this to feel like an event rather than just an extended episode, and honestly, that is probably the right call. If you are going to bring Jack Ryan back after the series ended, doing it with rogue ops teams, international fallout, and a full-throttle conspiracy thriller is a pretty decent way to go.
‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War’ premieres Wednesday, 20th May 2026, on Prime Video.
