Emily In Paris To End With Season 6 As Netflix Confirms Final Chapter

by Dave Elliott

We knew Emily In Paris had already been renewed for Season 6, but Netflix has now confirmed one very important extra detail: it will also be the final season.

The glossy, fashion-filled comedy-drama has officially begun production on its sixth and final season, with filming kicking off in Greece. So, it seems Emily Cooper’s European adventure is not just continuing beyond Paris, it is preparing to say au revoir for good.

Created by Darren Star, the series follows Emily, an ambitious twentysomething marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. Her new life quickly becomes a whirlwind of intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles work, friendships, fashion, and romance.

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have ‘Emily in Paris!’”

Since its launch in 2020, ‘Emily In Paris’ has become one of Netflix’s most recognisable global hits. Seasons 1 to 5 have spent 32 weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 list, reached number one in 90 countries, and accumulated over 250 million views from H1 2023 to H2 2025. Not bad for a show that began with one American marketing exec accidentally taking on Paris, the French language, and the concept of work-life balance.

The series has also had a sizeable cultural footprint, inspiring fashion trends, memes, location visits, and plenty of online debate about whether Emily’s outfits are fabulous, chaotic, or both. It has even been credited with giving French tourism a boost, with French President Emmanuel Macron previously praising the show for enhancing the city’s appeal.

Darren Star, of course, is no stranger to turning cities into characters. Before ‘Emily In Paris’, he helped put New York at the centre of pop culture with ‘Sex and the City’, and shaped the TV image of Los Angeles through ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ and ‘Melrose Place’. According to Netflix, Darren Star titles on the service, including ‘Emily In Paris’, ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Younger’, ‘Sex and the City: The Movie’, ‘Sex and the City 2’, and ‘Uncoupled’, generated 435 million total views from H1 2023 to H2 2025.

Netflix has also recently announced another Darren Star comedy, ‘Uncorked’, which will follow a talented but self-destructive winemaker who returns to Napa for a second chance at love, legacy, and that elusive 100-point wine.

‘Emily In Paris’ comes from creator, executive producer and writer Darren Star, and is produced by Paramount Television Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.

Emily In Paris‘ Season 6 does not yet have a premiere date, but will stream on Netflix in the UK. If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date. Visit Never Miss.
