Netflix has released the full trailer for ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender‘ Season 2, and Team Avatar is heading into Earth Kingdom territory, with Ba Sing Se, Princess Azula, and fan-favourite earthbender Toph all stepping into the spotlight.
Following the bittersweet victory at the Northern Water Tribe, ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2 sees Avatar Aang, Katara, and Sokka regrouping for the next stage of their mission to stop the Fire Nation. This time, their quest takes them to the supposedly impenetrable city of Ba Sing Se, as they attempt to convince the elusive Earth King to join the fight against Fire Lord Ozai.
Of course, things are never quite that simple when you are the world’s last hope and half the Fire Nation wants to either capture you, destroy you, or dramatically monologue near you.
The new season introduces Miyako as Toph, the audacious young earthbending master who becomes a vital part of Aang’s journey. With waterbending now added to his growing skillset, Aang must learn earthbending if he is ever going to stand a chance against the Fire Nation, and Toph may be exactly the teacher he needs. Whether Aang is ready for Toph’s particular teaching style is another matter entirely.
The trailer also teases the growing threat of Princess Azula, played by Elizabeth Yu (May December), who is now fully entering the fray. Prince Zuko, played by Dallas Liu (PEN15), remains determined to capture Aang, but with Azula also on the board, things are getting significantly more dangerous for everyone involved.
Season 2 stars Gordon Cormier (The Stand) as Aang, Kiawentiio (Anne with an E) as Katara, Ian Ousley (Physical) as Sokka, Dallas Liu (PEN15) as Prince Zuko, Miyako as Toph, Elizabeth Yu (May December) as Princess Azula, Momona Tamada (The Baby-Sitters Club) as Ty Lee, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim’s Convenience) as Iroh, Maria Zhang as Avatar Kyoshi, and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) as Fire Lord Ozai.
One of the big draws for fans this season will be Ba Sing Se, the vast Earth Kingdom capital that plays a major role in the original animated series. The trailer even drops the chillingly polite line fans have been waiting for: “There is no war in Ba Sing Se.” Which is exactly the sort of sentence that never, ever means anything terrible is happening behind the scenes…
Netflix has already confirmed that ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ will conclude with Season 3, meaning this second season is the middle chapter in Aang’s live-action journey. With Toph joining the team, Azula stepping forward, and Ba Sing Se looming large, Season 2 looks set to tackle some of the animated show’s most beloved material.
‘Avatar: The Last Airbender‘ Season 2 premieres Thursday, 25th June 2026 on Netflix.
