Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for ‘Ride or Die‘, a new high-octane action comedy starring Octavia Spencer (Truth Be Told) and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), which premieres globally this July.
The eight-part series follows best friends Debbie Claybourne, played by Spencer, and Judith Burton, played by Waddingham, who thought they knew everything about one another. Unfortunately for Debbie, one rather major detail has somehow slipped through the cracks: Judith is secretly an international assassin.
When a mysterious figure from Judith’s past reappears and a hit goes spectacularly wrong, both women find their lives turned upside down. Forced to go on the run together, the pair are thrown into a chaotic road trip across Europe, with law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and some extremely dangerous criminals hot on their heels. So, essentially, a girls’ trip, but with more bullets, fewer spa treatments, and a considerably higher chance of being chased through a picturesque European street by people with guns.
Alongside Spencer and Waddingham, the cast also includes Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as Billy, Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) as Sam, Savannah Steyn (House of the Dragon) as Queenie, Jamie Parker (1917) as David, Jacky Ido (The Catch) as Jacques, with Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) as Ana and Bill Nighy (The Man Who Fell to Earth) as The Director.
The series is created by Tessa Coates, who also executive produces alongside showrunner Matt Miller and director Peyton Reed. It comes from Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, along with Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream, and Spencer’s Orit Entertainment.
