Sky has quietly picked up ‘Grimsburg‘, the wonderfully strange FOX adult animated comedy led by Jon Hamm, with Season 1 currently scheduled to arrive on Sky One later in July.
The series follows Marvin Flute, who might be the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown or correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. Unfortunately, there is one mystery he has never been able to solve: his own family.
After returning to Grimsburg, a deeply peculiar town where practically everyone has at least three secrets, Flute attempts to rebuild his life and redeem himself with Harmony, the ex-wife he never stopped loving. That also means spending time with Stan, the son he largely neglected while obsessing over his career.
Essentially, Flute is brilliant at solving bizarre murders, but spectacularly ill-equipped to deal with basic human relationships. Given the population of Grimsburg, the murders are generally considerably easier.
Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Fargo) leads the voice cast as Marvin Flute, alongside Erinn Hayes (Kevin Can Wait, Childrens Hospital) as his ex-wife Harmony Flute, and Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) as their lovably unstable son Stan.
The principal cast also includes Greg Chun (Squid Game, Judgment) as Lieutenant John Kang, Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman, Invincible) as Detective Greg Summers, and Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien, Firefly) as Dr Rufis Pentos and the deeply unsettling Mr Flesh.
Created by Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel, and developed by Chadd Gindin, ‘Grimsburg’ is produced by FOX Entertainment’s animation studio Bento Box Entertainment. Hamm also serves as an executive producer on the series.
The comedy originally premiered on FOX in the USA in January 2024, followed by a second season in 2025. FOX had enough confidence in the show to order Season 2 before the first episode had even aired, and the network has since renewed it for a third season.
That third season is currently due to join FOX’s Sunday night animated lineup in autumn 2026. At the moment, Sky’s UK schedules only list the opening season, so there is no confirmation yet on when Season 2 might follow.
