The BBC has released the first-look images for ‘Blue Lights’ Season 4, reuniting the officers of Blackthorn Station ahead of the Belfast-set police drama’s return this autumn.
The new pictures feature Siân Brooke (The Undeclared War, Trying) as Grace Ellis, Martin McCann (Trespasses, Hostage) as Stevie Neil, Katherine Devlin (The Day of the Jackal, Vikings) as Annie Conlon and Nathan Braniff (Blue Lights Seasons 1-4) as Tommy Foster.
Unsurprisingly, everyone appears to be wearing police protective gear and staring with concern at something happening just outside the frame. Given the average shift at Blackthorn Station, that probably means their day is about to get considerably worse.

Season 4 will also bring back Richard Dormer (The Day of the Jackal, Game of Thrones, Fortitude) as Gerry Cliff, who last appeared during the first series of ‘Blue Lights’.
He returns alongside Hannah McClean (Malpractice) as solicitor Jen Robinson and Jonathan Harden (The Rainmaker, Time) as disgraced former inspector Jonty. The trio will appear in an episode that promises to answer some important questions from the past.
The returning cast also includes Frank Blake (Say Nothing, Normal People) as Shane, Joanne Crawford (Outlander: Blood of My Blood) as Helen, Andi Osho (The Sandman, I May Destroy You) as Sandra, Abigail McGibbon (Sadie, Ballywalter) as Tina, Dearbháile McKinney (Blue Lights Seasons 1-4) as Aisling, Neil Keery (How To Get To Heaven From Belfast) as McCloskey and Andrea Irvine (Call The Midwife) as Nicola.

Cathy Tyson (Dune: Prophecy, Black Ops) also returns as private members’ club owner Dana Morgan, alongside Michael Smiley (Bad Sisters, Censor) as C3 intelligence officer Paul “Colly” Collins.
The six-part fourth series is produced by Two Cities Television and co-produced by Gallagher Films, with support from Northern Ireland Screen.
Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson return as co-creators, writers and executive producers, alongside co-creator and producer Stephen Wright and co-creator and co-producer Louise Gallagher.

Brendan Mullin produces the new season. Episodes one to three are directed by Angela Griffin, who previously directed episodes of the third series, while episodes four to six are directed by Sam O’Mahony.
The BAFTA and RTS award-winning drama has now been sold in more than 160 territories, meaning the officers of Blackthorn Station have travelled impressively far without ever getting much further than Belfast themselves.
‘Blue Lights’ Season 4 premieres this autumn on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
