Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 Trailer Brings Ghostly Trouble To Hawkins

by Dave Elliott

Netflix has released the official trailer for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2, as Hawkins once again finds itself overrun with paranormal problems this September.

The animated spin-off returns following the Hawkins Investigators Club’s battle with the Horde Queen, with Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max and Nikki attempting to get back to something resembling normal life. That means arcade games, HIC missions and preparations for Valentine’s Day. Being Hawkins, naturally, the peace doesn’t last long…

The new season sees strange iridescent flowers beginning to pop up all over town, along with ghostly apparitions and a swarm of bizarre creatures. As Dustin puts it in the trailer, “We’re the first line of defense against paranormal threats to our town.”

Unfortunately, Max and Nikki have also spotted a business opportunity before anyone has figured out exactly what the flowers are.

“We think that the kids are going back to their normal lives, but we start to discover that these flowers are popping up all over Hawkins,” explains showrunner Eric Robles.

“Nikki and Max are scheming to sell the flowers all over Hawkins,” he adds. “Now [they] are going to be everywhere, which creates a bigger problem.”

The HIC will have to uncover what is behind the new supernatural activity before yet another gate to the Upside Down gets ripped open. Along the way, ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ will return to familiar locations including Hawkins Middle School and the Palace Arcade, while also exploring some previously unseen corners of the town.

“What’s really exciting is we’re going to go places that we haven’t been to before,” says Robles. “There’s a mine in Hawkins that we haven’t explored yet.”

Returning to voice the young Hawkins crew are Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Luca Diaz as Mike, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will and Odessa A’zion (Grand Army) as Nikki Baxter.

They are joined by Brett Gipson as Hopper, Janeane Garofalo (Wet Hot American Summer) as Anna Baxter, Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl) as Steve Harrington, Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler, Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario and Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) as Jeff. Lou Diamond Phillips (Prodigal Son) also voices Daniel Fischer.

Robles executive produces the eight-episode, 30-minute second season, alongside Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer through Upside Down Pictures, Shawn Levy through 21 Laps, Hilary Leavitt and Dan Cohen. Ian Graham serves as co-executive producer, with Flying Bark Productions producing the animation.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 premieres Thursday, 17th September 2026 on Netflix.
