Forgive my ignorance, but does “Netflix UK is the UK’s channel for the final season ….” mean that episodes 9 thru 16 will not be available on DVD in UK?

Thanks Andrew, I was worried there for a mo because, personally, I prefer to enjoy this and similar great TV by devouring an entire series DVD in a single weekend’s session. Now my only problem is to try to ensure I don’t get to know any plot details before the DVD’s out! Thanks again – Peter

It’s entirely possible. I do it every year with Game of Thrones (DVD almost a year after broadcast on a satellite-exclusive channel). And I’m in the same boat as you with breaking bad.
Some people think it is impossible to avoid spoilers (and that somehow justifies some stealing online), but those folks clearly spend too long at their computers and have no willpower!
