Season 7 Of Pretty Little Liars Will Be It’s Last

Some sad news for Pretty Little Liars fans. Season 7 will be it’s last.

In a Facebook video featuring creator & showrunner I. Marlene King, and cast members Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson,  Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario and Sasha Pieterse, they announced the next 10 episodes will be the final ones of the show. Those last few episodes, which make the 2nd half of season 7, won’t air till April 2017 and will end with a 2hr finale.

There had been speculation that the series was coming to a close, as this season has featured a number of returning cast members, and the tying up of loose ends. Lucy Hale had also made comments a few months ago about the show coming to an end, before retracting them later (presumably after a shouty phone call from a producer!)

“It’s been an honour to work with such a talented cast and crew over the last seven years. We are a family, and it will be hard to say goodbye to a show that has made such an impact on young audiences and been a mouthpiece for cultural change” commented I. Marlene King. “I’m excited for fans to finally have all of their questions answered, and I believe they will be satisfied with the wild ride that is our last ten episodes. I am also thrilled to embark on my next endeavour Famous In Love with Bella Thorne and for PLL fans to get wrapped up in Paige’s rise to stardom and the pitfalls of Hollywood.”

King’s new show Famous In Love, is adapted from the novel by Rebecca Serle, and stars Thorne as an ordinary college student who gets pushed into the spotlight after auditioning, and winning, a role in a big Hollywood film. She now has to work out a balance between finishing college and her new found fame. The show is already shooting and due to air in 2017.

You can catch up with all 7 seasons of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix UK, and will be able to catch the last 10 episodes when they air in April 2017, just 24hrs after the US.
