Season 6 of Grimm will be it’s last US network NBC have announced. The news is not entirely unexpected, as it was only renewed for 13 episodes next season, rather than it’s usual 22.
The show, which airs on W (the channel formally known as Watch), in the UK, sees Police Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) learn that he’s descended from a long line of ‘Grimms’ – people that can see all the mythological creatures, know as ‘Wesen’, that hide amongst us for what they really are. Some, such as his friends Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) & Rosalee (Bree Turner), are friendly. Other… not so much… A Grimm’s duty is to hunt down the bad ‘Wesen’, and help keep law and order for both the human and ‘Wesen’ worlds.
Despite being on NBC and having the Friday night ‘death’ slot, Grimm performed surprisingly well, even becoming one of the highest-rated scripted series in that slot. “While we’re sad to announce the 6th season will be our last, we’re thrilled to be going out with a bang” tweeted Elizabeth Tulloch, who plays Juliette on the show. She continued “I want to add that we’re eternally grateful to all of our amazing fans who helped get us to 123 (!!) episodes of @NBCGrimm, & to Portland.”
The final season on Grimm will arrive Jan 2017 in the US, and usually isn’t too far being in the UK.
