‘Grimm’ Creators Hope To Find ‘Treasure’ With New Drama

With the 6th and final season of Grimm arriving in January 2017 on W (the channel formerly known as Watch) in the UK, it’s creators are looking for their next project. Showrunners and Whedon alumni Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt are continuing their partnership with Grimm EP’s Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, to create Treasure for US network NBC.

Described as an ‘action adventure mystery’, Treasure follows a group of grad students from Washington, DC who accidentally uncover a 40-year-old secret which leads them on a wild ride through history, as they attempt to unravel an unsolved murder, find hidden blood money, and avoid being killed by an assassin from the past…

If you’re thinking this sounds a bit National Treasure-like, that’s probably no great coincidence, as Jim Kouf was the writer of that movie. Kouf and Greenwalt are set to write Treasure, and also exec produce along with Hayes and Milliner.

Along with Grimm, Greenwalt previous work includes Buffy, Angel, and The X-Files, with Kouf having written on Angel, Ghost Whisperer, and both the National Treasure movies.

Grimm’s 6th and final season is due to start airing on W (the channel formerly known as Watch), January 2017.
