What do you get when you put four hugely talented video game actors on a sofa at MCM London Comic Con 2026? Some fascinating career stories, a few surprisingly emotional moments, a rubber chicken, and one of the most ridiculous Jason Statham impressions we’ve ever heard! We’ve got the complete Charm, Chaos and Command panel featuring Nolan North (Uncharted), Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3), Anjali Bhimani (Overwatch, Apex Legends) and Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption 2), split into three videos for your viewing pleasure.
Hosted by the always-entertaining WeeClaire, the panel brings together four performers responsible for some of gaming’s most memorable characters, including Nathan Drake, Astarion, Symmetra, Rampart and Dutch van der Linde.
However, rather than simply revisiting their greatest hits, the conversation takes some fascinating turns, exploring the realities of building an acting career, the importance of finding your own definition of success, and why things don’t always work out quite as expected.
And then there’s Nolan North doing Jason Statham. But we’ll get to that…
A quick warning before you watch: All three videos contain some strong language, so they’re not entirely suitable for younger viewers. Although, given who’s on the sofa, you probably weren’t expecting a particularly restrained afternoon!
We’ve divided the panel into three parts, all of which you can watch below.
Part 1: Nolan North’s Unusual Journey, Neil Newbon’s Career Struggles & A Tribute To BioWare
The first video begins with WeeClaire asking Nolan North about his rather unconventional route into acting.
Before he became one of the most recognisable voices in gaming, Nolan had quite different plans for his future, and his journey from college baseball to Hollywood certainly wasn’t straightforward. He shares some wonderful stories about how he first discovered acting, the decisions that changed his career, and a particularly awkward encounter that occurred when things weren’t going quite so well. It’s a great reminder that even people who seem to have been successful forever haven’t necessarily had an easy ride getting there.
Benjamin Byron Davis also offers some fascinating thoughts about what it actually means to become an actor, particularly for people hoping to break into video games. Rather than focusing on getting famous or landing one particular role, he has a rather different philosophy about what aspiring performers should concentrate on.
Anjali Bhimani picks up on that discussion, challenging the modern obsession with social media followers, recognition and being the biggest name in your chosen profession. Her thoughts on what constitutes a successful career are wonderfully refreshing, and probably applicable to considerably more professions than acting!
Neil Newbon also speaks candidly about his own experiences, including some extremely difficult periods when continuing to pursue acting was becoming increasingly challenging.
The conversation develops into a thoughtful discussion about rejection, perseverance and those moments when even the most dedicated performers start questioning whether they can keep going. Despite the serious subject matter, there’s plenty of humour throughout, particularly when Nolan shares a story about an unexpected encounter while doing carpentry work!
And towards the end, Neil takes a moment to acknowledge BioWare and the developers behind some of gaming’s most beloved titles, prompting an emotional response from the audience. It’s a fascinating conversation, especially if you’ve ever wondered what life is really like for the people behind your favourite video game characters.
Part 2: Existential Chicken Gets Chaotic!
After all that thoughtful discussion about acting, it’s time for something considerably sillier!
WeeClaire introduces the cast to Gilbert the rubber chicken for another round of Existential Chicken, a game in which the guests reach inside Gilbert, pull out a question and attempt to answer it. Simple enough, right?
Well, with this particular group, even the simplest things have a habit of becoming unexpectedly entertaining.
Benjamin Byron Davis finds himself contemplating whether his life is one enormous main quest or an endless collection of side missions. Given that he’s best known for playing Dutch van der Linde in Red Dead Redemption 2, you might expect him to have some fairly strong opinions about being the main character in his own story. And you wouldn’t be wrong!
Anjali Bhimani gets a question that will be particularly familiar to Dungeons & Dragons fans, as she’s asked to work out her real-life character alignment. Her answer involves a rather entertaining admission about her relationship with rules.
Meanwhile, Neil Newbon has to consider what advice he’d give to a Level 1 version of himself, leading to a surprisingly thoughtful answer, although he’s not entirely convinced his younger self would appreciate it.
And Nolan North is asked what would happen if he encountered himself as the final boss of a video game… Considering his extensive experience in games involving dangerous enemies and elaborate boss battles, you might imagine he’d come up with something suitably challenging. You’d imagine wrong.
It’s a brilliantly silly little segment, and a lovely chance to see four actors who clearly enjoy one another’s company having some fun.
Part 3: Nolan North’s Jason Statham Impression, Uncharted Secrets & Fan Questions!
For our third and final video, the audience takes over, and things get off to a wonderfully ridiculous start.
One fan asks the cast to demonstrate their favourite voices or impressions, prompting Nolan North to reveal that he’s recently become rather fond of impersonating Jason Statham… And, well, it’s absolutely brilliant!
Nolan launches into his impression of the British action star, with Neil Newbon immediately joining in as the pair begin discussing the rather unusual career choices of Statham’s movie characters. Before long, they’re coming up with increasingly ridiculous ideas for what his next film could involve, and the whole thing descends into glorious nonsense.
It’s one of our favourite moments from the entire MCM weekend, and definitely worth watching!
Fortunately, after everybody has managed to recover, the questions return to slightly more sensible territory.
Nolan discusses his experiences working on Uncharted, particularly his relationship with writer and director Amy Hennig, and how being involved in the casting process gave him an entirely different perspective on auditions. He also shares an interesting story about casting one of the series’ most popular characters, and what happened when the right performer walked into the room.
Neil Newbon reflects on the importance of writers and creative collaborators, including someone whose work helped him bring one of his most celebrated characters to life.
Anjali Bhimani also talks about an influential director from her theatre career and how that experience changed her approach to performing.
Benjamin Byron Davis, meanwhile, offers some excellent advice about building relationships within the acting community, rather than treating everyone else as competition.
The questions then become rather more personal, with fans asking about dealing with rejection, finding the confidence to take risks, and overcoming imposter syndrome. The answers are thoughtful, encouraging and occasionally very funny, particularly when the cast reflect on how even successful actors still have their own doubts and insecurities.
It’s a fantastic mixture of career advice, behind-the-scenes stories and outright silliness… But that Jason Statham impression deserves an award all of its own!
