24’s Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) Joins Supergirl!
24’s Carlos Bernard is making his way onto ‘Supergirl‘ for a guest spot it has been revealed today, although those of you hoping to see him in tights and a cape are going to be disappointed.
Bernard, who is best known as Tony Almeida in ’24’, will be showing up as father to Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima), girlfriend of Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), Supergirl’s sister. We already know that Maggie’s family are quite conservative, and didn’t approve when she came out, so you can expect the reunion may be somewhat frosty…
Things were left a bit up in the air between Alex & Maggie last season after Alex proposed, but we didn’t get to hear Maggie’s answer. Could the arrival of her father be a sign she said yes? The question is whether he’s here to support her, or try and talk her out of it.
As we mentioned last week, Floriana Lima requested to be downgraded to recurring guest star from series regular so she could pursue other projects, although she is still booked to appear in multiple episodes next season. However, due to a strategic use of the character, producers don’t believe viewers will notice the difference, so it does sound like ‘Sanvers’ is still going strong.
We will find out when ‘Supergirl‘ returns to Sky 1 in Autumn 2017.
