With SDCC over, and new trailers dropped for ‘The Flash‘ & ‘Supergirl‘, a few questions have risen regarding the fate of some of the newer characters. Those questions have now been answered.
According to the latest reports, Tom Felton, who joined Team Flash as Julian Albert, Barry’s Flashpoint created CSI partner, will not be returning as a series regular next season. When we return for Season 4, the timeline will have moved on 6 months, as we see how Central City is coping without Barry as The Flash. It would seem that Julian has left the team, which would make sense… Having your love interest (Danielle Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow) turn evil can’t have been an easy thing to deal with! Whilst Tom hasn’t yet booked anymore appearances on the show, that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Julian though. It’s entirely possible he will return as his schedule permits.
Sticking with ‘The Flash’, for those shipping #MultiVibe, and hoping we’d see a lot more of Cisco & Gypsy, that’s now looking less likely. Jessica Camacho, who plays Gypsy, has just landed a role as a season regular on ‘Taken‘, which has massively revamped it’s cast for it’s 2nd season. This doesn’t mean we won’t see Gypsy at all, but it is likely to reduce her availability moving forward. Poor Cisco can’t catch a break…
Over on ‘Supergirl’, Floriana Lima is set to return as Detective Maggie Sawyer, girlfriend to Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh)… but, she has been downgraded from series regular to guest star. According to Exec Producer Andrew Kreisberg, Floriana is “not available to us as a series regular next season, as she’s looking to pursue other opportunities,” so that sounds like she requested the change herself, rather than it being an exec decision. She is still booked to appear in multiple episodes next season though, so it’s just a case of her character being used more sparingly.
‘The Flash‘ & ‘Supergirl‘ will both return, along with ‘Arrow‘ & ‘Legends Of Tomorrow‘ on Sky 1 in Autumn 2017.
